Wytheville Community College (WCC) celebrated the end of Fall semester by awarding several faculty members for exceptional contributions to the college. 

Those presented with awards are as follows: -Karla Yates, Associate Professor of Nursing, Scholarly and Creative Engagement Award; Alicia Roberts, Assistant Professor of Nursing, Scholarly and Creative Engagement Award; Natasha Puckett, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Teaching, Institutional Responsibility Award; April Willie, Associate Professor of Nursing, Scholarly and Creative Engagement Award; Danielle Simmerman, Instructor of Nursing, Scholarly and Creative Engagement Award; Mary Arnold Hedrick, Assistant Professor of Biology, Teaching Award; Jennifer Nunley, Assistant Professor of Education, Teaching, Institutional Responsibility, Scholarly and Creative Engagement, and Service Awards; Jessica Amos, Assistant Professor of Chemistry, Scholarly and Creative Engagement Award; Juliana Nichols, Instructor of Nursing, Scholarly and Creative Engagement Award; Johnathon Ferguson, Machine Technology Instructor, Institutional Responsibility Award; Christopher Crooke, HVAC Instructor, Teaching, Institutional Responsibility Award

"This event allows us to celebrate the hard work that WCC employees bring to the college every day," said Dr. Dean Sprinkle, WCC President. "We are proud of our dedicated faculty and staff and are grateful for the ways they help our students accomplish their education and career goals.” 

After a faculty and staff holiday luncheon, Tammy Durham was the guest speaker for the event. Durham spent many years working in various industries before her move to technical college education and is a certified instructor for Human Synergistics International, Inc., Achieve Global International, and Development Dimensions International. She is also a Dale Carnegie, Inc. instructor. Durham delivered an inspiring speech titled, “The Power of Yes,” emphasizing the power of first impressions and the importance of fostering positive interactions among college students, highlighting how this mindset is key to their personal growth and academic success.
