The Lovely Mountaineers and Coyote Ugly Take the Stage at Wytheville Community College on October 21, 2023

Wytheville Community College (WCC) is pleased to announce its free monthly Bluegrass and Old-Time Jamboree at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023. The jamboree will be held in the William F. Snyder Auditorium on the WCC campus located at 1000 East Main Street, Wytheville.

Coyote Ugly is a band based out of the Kingsport, Tennessee area comprised of Joey Cox on banjo, Vince Bullins on mandolin, Tom Horton on guitar, David Chrisley on bass, and Beverly Horton on lead vocals.  This combination of talent, age, and personality makes Coyote Ugly one of the most energetic bands touring the bluegrass circuit today. Known for its harmonies, Coyote Ugly won the SPBGMH National Band Championship in 2020.

The Lovely Mountaineers is an old-time string band from Southwest Virginia. The group is led by Radford, Virginia fiddler Gina Dilg, and her husband, Jason, who plays the clawhammer banjo. Multi-instrumentalist Brett Morris of Galax plays the guitar, and her father, Dale, plays the upright bass. All band members are seasoned musicians with years of experience playing fiddlers conventions, festivals, and shows within the region and beyond.

Seating for the event is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The event is free and open to the public; however, donations will be accepted to help defray the travel expenses of the bands.
