WCC hosted a luncheon honoring college retirees on October 20.
As part of Wytheville Community College’s continuing 60th Anniversary celebration, the Wytheville Community College Educational Foundation hosted a luncheon honoring college retirees. The event was held on October 20, with 25 former faculty and staff and several guests in attendance.
Dr. Dean Sprinkle, WCC President, welcomed the group. He thanked them for their attendance. “You are a valued part of the WCC family, and we thank you for your part in making WCC a great institution! We continue to build upon the strong foundation that you established.”
During a brief program, Sprinkle shared current information at the college and highlighted several upcoming events. He also presented several retirement resolutions to employees who had retired over the past four years. “Due to the pandemic, we were not able to recognize the achievements of many of our recent retirees,” said Sprinkle.
Recent retirees in attendance who were recognized included Tommy Arnold, Linda Newman, and Nelson Teed.
Following the program, retirees enjoyed a catered luncheon and shared memories. “We always enjoy visiting with retirees and reflecting on the college’s rich history of serving our community,” said Dr. Rhonda Catron-Wood, Vice President of Academics & Institutional Advancement.
