A new series of free digital learning workshops aimed at enhancing internet and employability skills will be offered in collaboration with Wytheville Community College (WCC), American Electric Power (AEP), GigaBeam Networks, and Bland County. Bland County Public Schools will provide classroom space for the workshops.
These recurring workshops, designed for job seekers and individuals looking to enhance their digital and professional skills, will cover a range of essential topics, including soft skills and professionalism in the workplace, web-based job seeker tools, internet basics, digital and financial literacy, and social media management. The series of workshops will be held at Bland County Elementary School beginning April 5 and continuing through June 30.
Childcare services and limited transportation assistance will be provided. Participants will need to indicate the need for those services while registering.

These workshops aim to provide participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to enhance their employability and adapt to the ever-changing digital landscape. As rural broadband access continues to improve, these workshops help bridge the gap for the next generation of workers in today’s technology-driven economy.
