Wytheville Community College (WCC) recently received the Local Chapter of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) 2024 flag award. The commendation is presented in recognition of exemplary patriotism in the display of the American flag.

The College is recognized because "the American flag is displayed in a prominent location, is properly cared for, kept in excellent condition, is illuminated at night, and is hoisted briskly and lowered ceremoniously. The flag is also displayed at half-mast when proper." (SAR)

“WCC is proud to receive this award presented by Mr. Rollie Nye on behalf of the SAR. We will continue to display the flags in a respectful manner,” said Dr. Dean Sprinkle, WCC President.
