Wytheville  Community College recently recognized Sharon Albertson and Timothy Anderson as Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Members of the Year. The Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member of the Year Award recognizes individuals who have made “notable contributions to the improvement of instruction” while working as an adjunct faculty member of WCC. WCC is pleased to announce the recognition of both Sharon Albertson and Timothy Anderson as recipients of the 2025 Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member of the Year Award. 

Kristie Bryant, Associate Professor of Human Services, nominated Sharon Albertson, Psychology adjunct instructor, and said, “throughout her time here, she [Albertson] has consistently demonstrated her unwavering commitment to her students' success and well-being. Sharon goes above and beyond to create a supportive and engaging learning environment, ensuring that every student has a positive experience in her classes.” Josh Floyd, Coordinator of Dual Enrollment, nominated Tim Anderson, WCC Economics adjunct instructor, with the following statement: “Tim is always ready to help students in whatever capacity needed, even though the courses he teaches are online and not in-person. We are very fortunate to have an adjunct instructor delivering critical Economics courses needed for our transferable degrees.” 

Dr. Dean Sprinkle, Wytheville Community College President, presented the awards to the instructors at a ceremony in May.
