WCC Theatre is holding auditions for fall play production on September 3 and 4.
Have you ever watched an actor in a live play and thought to yourself, I could do that? "Well, this is your chance! The Wytheville Community College Theatre will hold auditions on Sept. 3 and 4, from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Grayson Hall Snyder Auditorium at WCC’s Wytheville campus.
The WCC Theatre will present Almost Maine by John Cariani by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York. Almost Maine is a romantic comedy that tells the stories of many different residents of this northern settlement. It includes stories of new love, old love, unexpected love, and lost love. Auditions are open to WCC students, employees, and community members.
All materials for the audition will be provided, or you may bring a prepared piece. No previous stage experience is required to audition. There are female and male parts for up to 16 adults, also one male part for a 16–18-year-old, and one part for a female 16–18-year-old.
Rehearsals will be two-three evenings a week. Those dates will be announced. Anyone interested in acting, costumes, props, lighting, sound, and set construction is welcome to attend auditions.
Robert “Joe” Burnett will direct the fall 2025 play. Burnett encourages interested people to audition, and says, “If you have ever wanted to be on the stage under the bright lights, now is your chance to shine.” If you’re interested in other aspects of live theater, Performance dates are October 31, November 1, 7, and 8, at 7 p.m.
