The Electronic Medical Records Specialist organizes and maintains health information both in paper files and in electronic systems. They check data for accuracy, assign codes for insurance reimbursement, record information and keep file folders and electronic databases up-to-date.
An Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRS) will assist healthcare facilities and various agencies in the proper handling of electronic patient data, including document management, privacy and security, electronic procedures and compliancy.
Admission to the Career Studies Certificate program is based upon the general requirements for admission to the college.
