Associate of Arts and Sciences in Science with a Specialization in Mathematics

Four-semester (two-year) program
Purpose
The Associate of Arts and Sciences Degree Program in Science with a Specialization in Mathematics is designed for persons who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a baccalaureate degree program with a major in mathematics, mathematics education, or statistics. This program may also be suitable for students pursing baccalaureate degrees in physics, chemistry, or computer science.
Requirements
Students are urged to become acquainted with the requirements of the major department in the college or university to which transfer is contemplated and to consult with the Student Services Office of the community college in planning their program and selecting electives. Note the guaranteed admission and articulation agreements referenced in the Admissions section apply only to students who complete the Associate Degree. In addition to the admission requirements established for the college, Completion of the science program requires competency in English and MDE 60 as demonstrated through the placement and diagnostic tests, qualification through Multiple Measures (GPA), or by satisfactorily completing the required MDE units or equivalent.
