Talent Search

Talent Search is a federally funded TRiO program, through the U.S. Department of Education. The program identifies and assists first generation income eligible students in grades six through twelve who have the potential to succeed in college.

We provide academic, career, and financial aid counseling to our participants and encourage them to continue their education. Our services are provided through in-school workshops and educationally focused out-of-school activities.

Talent Search can help if the student...

Is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Is in grades sixth through twelfth
Attends the following high schools: Bland County HS, Carroll County HS, Fort Chiswell HS, George Wythe HS, Grayson County HS, Marion Senior High, Rural Retreat HS, or Wythe County Tech Center
Attends the following elementary or middle school: Bland Elementary, Carroll County Middle School, Fort Chiswell Middle School, Fries Middle School, Marion Middle School, Rural Retreat Middle School, Scott Memorial Middle School, or St. Paul School
Has an interest in exploring the World-of-Work or opportunities for when they graduate from high school
