FastForward Programs
What is FastForward?
FastForward is a high-demand program helping Virginians get the jobs they want and the salaries they need. FastForward programs are short-term training courses offered through Virginia’s Community Colleges to help you fast-track your career. Job applicants with workforce credentials are twice as likely to be hired than applicants with no credentials.
Financial assistance is available to students participating in training and certification in one of the following approved programs:

Please contact Vicki to schedule an appointment. Application packet and deadlines for applying will be provided at that time. Students are entered on a first come, first served basis as applications are finalized. It is important for students to be proactive in finalizing their applications in a timely manner.
Spring 2021 Schedule:
February 15 - March 11
March 15 - April 8
April 12 - May 6
May 10 - June 7
Monday - Thursday / 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM at the Crossroads Institute in Galax.
PLEASE NOTE: Students interested in PowerLine, CDL, or Underground Power must obtain their Class A learner's permit prior to the deadline
(2 -4 weeks before first day of class).

5:00 - 8:20 PM at the Crossroads Institute in Galax.

(Please note these forms must be signed and returned with required documentation before your application can be processed)
FastForward Career Programs Application
Required Documentation:
- Driver's License/or Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card
- Utility Bill with most recent address: (bank statement, cell phone bill, electric, voter card, etc.)
- Most recent Tax Return filed (if parent/guardian is claiming you as a dependent, parent or guardian tax return will be required along with driver's license from both parent and student); OR if receiving TANF/SNAP (provide a copy of eligibility letter); OR if receiving Disability (provide a copy of eligibility determination letter).
- If applying to the CDL Truck Driving program, student must provide an updated copy of driving record.
In addition to receiving grant funding, you may qualify for a scholarship through the Foundation Office to receive additional tuition assistance.

Workforce Non-credit Refund Policy
In non-credit classes, full refunds will be given if a course is cancelled or if a student withdraws three days prior to the course. In order to receive a refund, request can be made in writing, by phone at (276)223-4717, or via email at wfd@wcc.vccs.edu.
